Angry Birds Rio is a special chapter in the Angry Birds universe. It's a discontinued video game that holds the distinction of being the third main entry in the series. Developed by Rovio Entertainment and published alongside Fox Digital Entertainment and 20th Century Fox (now part of The Walt Disney Company), the game made its debut in March 2011 as a tie-in to the Rio film. In 2014, an update was released to coincide with the launch of Rio 2.
The End of an Era:
Regrettably, like its feathered heroes, Angry Birds Rio has faced its own challenges. It was removed from both the App Store and Google Play Store in 2019. In early 2020, the game was officially discontinued, and its servers were retired. While the game remains playable in its core form, microtransactions and advertisements have been disabled.
